On Jan. 31, House Oversight and Government Reform (OGR) Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-UT), along with Ranking Member Elijah Cummings (D-MD) and committee members Mark Meadows (R-NC), Dennis Ross (R-FL), Gerry Connolly (D-VA) and Stephen Lynch (D-MA) have introduced H.R. 756, the Postal Service Reform Act of 2017. The legislation can be viewed here.
Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-MA) also introduced H.R. 760, the Postal Service Financial Improvement Act. The legislation can be viewed here.
Both H.R. 756 and H.R. 760 are similar to the postal bills that were introduced in the last Congress. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee will hold a hearing on H.R. 756 on Tuesday, Feb. 7. The committee hopes to have the bill voted out of committee by the end of the month.
The NRLCA is currently reviewing H.R. 756.
