This week, the House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on a budget resolution that could contain reconciliation instructions to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee requiring a minimum $32 billion in mandatory spending cuts. These cuts would target the hard-earned retirement and health benefits of postal and federal employees and retirees.
Postal and federal employees and retirees have already been asked to sacrifice close to $200 billion for deficit reduction purposes in recent years, and should not be targeted as if they are the source of America’s problems. We ask that you contact your Representative and urge them to vote for a budget resolution thatdoes not contain reconciliation instructions to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform; and ask that your member will oppose any budget resolution that contains such instructions.
