Rural Carrier Associate Tabitha Kendle was delivering mail in Excelsior Springs, MO, in the summer when she noticed a customer’s mail piling up.
Kendle also saw that the man’s normally closed garage door was open. She grew concerned and called the police, asking for someone to check on him.
Responders found him passed out in his backyard, where he had been weeding. Temperatures in the area had been near 100 degrees for several days.
The customer was taken to a hospital, where he recovered.
Police officers credited Kendle with saving the man’s life.

Awesome job Tabitha❣️It reminds me of the day that one of my handicapped customers was stuck in a flower bed, because her wheelchair went off the edge of the sidewalk. She was sitting there waving a little twig at me. She asked me, if I can stand up, could you pull my chair out for me. She stood up, and immediately fell into the muddy flower bed. I had to go up to the road and wave down help, to get her up and back into her chair. It took 2 gentlemen to get her up. I them followed her into the house and helped her clean up, and called a family member to check in on her.
