RCA helped a couple in need on a highway

Rural Carrier Associate Bryan Boyd was recently driving along his Bath, NC, route when he saw a couple near a vehicle parked on the side of a road.

The woman was crying and the man was searching for something on the ground.

Boyd pulled over and approached the couple. He learned that the woman had recently been discharged from a medical facility, was experiencing confusion and had thrown the car keys onto the ground.

The Postal Service employee called 911 and continued to talk to the couple until police arrived.

Officers took a statement from Boyd and assisted the couple.

“We are so proud of Bryan for taking the time to make sure our customers are safe while doing his job above and beyond,” said local Postmaster Wendy Baker.
