Postal worker hurt in hit and run released from hospital, suspect arrested

A man was arrested Tuesday, Jan. 27 after a hit-and-run crash in an Amarillo neighborhood injured a postal worker during the winter storm over the weekend.

The Amarillo Police Department said Wednesday, Jan. 28 that the postal worker has been released from the hospital.

Amarillo police officers responded about 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24 to a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian in the 5100 block of Susan. Police said “a mail delivery person was struck by a white vehicle while walking from his mail truck to a residence.” He was taken to a local hospital.
