Rural Carrier killed in car accident on the way to work

WOOD COUNTY (WAOW)- One person is dead after a two car crash in the Village of Auburndale Saturday morning.

In a press release from the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, 57-year-old Mark Smith was driving a van west bound on USH 10 when he collided with a pick up truck which was north bound on Cty Rd P.

Smith was pronounced dead on scene and the driver of the pick up truck was transported to Marshfield Medical Center for treatment.

The crash is under investigation at this time.
