NRLCA – Veterans Day Tribute

On Veterans Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who have served our nation with courage, strength, and unwavering dedication. Veterans Day is a moment to reflect on their sacrifices and to say thank you for protecting the freedoms we cherish every day.

This day of remembrance began as Armistice Day on November 11, 1919, marking the first anniversary of the end of World War I. It became a national holiday in 1938, and in 1954, President Dwight D. Eisenhower renamed it Veterans Day to honor all who have served in America’s armed forces.

We’re especially proud that more than 68,000 veterans are part of the Postal Service family, making it one of the largest veteran employers in the nation.
