Georgia rural carrier dies on the route from gunshot

The victim in the early morning shooting has succumbed to his injuries. The victim was a Rural Mail Carrier with the US Postal Service, out delivering mail. The victims name is being withheld at this time pending notification of next of kin. The Banks County Sheriff’s Office is working diligently alongside Postal Inspectors and the Banks County Coroners Office. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
