NRLCA Reaches Tentative Agreement with USPS for Three-Year Contract

The National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association and the United States Postal Service have negotiated a Tentative Agreement to cover the three-year period from May 21, 2024 to May 20, 2027. This Tentative Agreement must be ratified by a majority of the voting membership of the NRLCA to become effective.  A more detailed explanation of the changes will be presented in a special Tentative Agreement edition of the National Rural Letter Carrier magazine and via ratification meetings to be held in every state in accordance with Article XI, Section 1 of the Constitution of the National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association. The required ratification meetings will be held throughout the months of May and June 2025 in conjunction with state conventions when possible; the time and place of each meeting will be published on the NRLCA website as soon as possible.

The NRLCA National Board unanimously believes the Tentative Agreement is fair and reasonable and is in the best interests of the 131,000 hardworking rural letter carriers across the country.  The Tentative Agreement provides for substantial gains in wages and benefits for all classifications of rural carriers.

  1. Cookie cut from city. I was disappointed after hearing all of the amazing resolutions come through our state meeting in 2024 that this is all the agreed on.

  2. Same old nonsense – settles a year after expiration with no increase for first six months. Privatization is looking better and better all the time.
    VOTE NO!!!

  3. How are 1-percentage point something raises “substantial”?
The worthless union is a TOTAL JOKE!
My faith in them ran out years before the last contract expired almost a year ago.

    Privatization, YES!

    • you realize privatization would cost us most of our protections and benefits. They would cut expenses, our benefits, retirement match, AL, travel expenses etc, to nothing.

  4. Every three years we lose six months of pay increases while they settle on a terrible contract. How is that negotiating in good faith? The PO benefits from delaying a contract agreement.

  5. What is crazy is we all pay them about 600 a year x 100,000 members that’s 60 million for one year worth of dues. Then x the years they had to come up with the terms on a new contract… this trash deal cost us 100plus million!! Wildcat strike is what is needed! They are not looking out for their members, they are looking out for their own pockets. Worst negotiators ever. How about giving carriers credit for time as RCA when becoming full time? Not agreeing to this, a child could have negotiated this. Pathetic!

  6. This union is a complete joke. I can’t wait until privatization. Post office is a joke. Fire all union members for incompetence, now they are fighting for there jobs. We will hire our one union the hell with them.

    • You literally have no idea what you’re talking about. The union is a joke, but privatizing the post office would just strip your benefits, and retirement matching.

  7. I pray President Trump steps in soon. USPS is a failure in my opinion. The trucks are literally falling apart and are not safe with holes the floors, no heat, no air, no fans, doors destroying my shoulders opening and closing them. USPS is a failure.

  8. Fuck it.
    Lets privatize.

These nerds that we pay dues to don’t care.
Maybe it’ll incentivize our shit ass management to dig their heads out of their asses too.

  9. until they either get rid of RRECs or actually start retrieving all the data, I will vote no on every contract
