PA Rural Carrier in Greene County hit by vehicle, killed

A mail carrier in Greene County was hit by a vehicle and killed on Monday afternoon, the coroner confirmed.

Greene County Coroner Gene Rush said the mail carrier, 49-year-old Chad E. Varner of Spraggs, was hit after exiting his vehicle to deliver a package.

The coroner said this happened at 180 Andrews Road in Morris Township, Greene County.

Rush said no further information is available pending the results of an autopsy and the investigation by the Greene County Regional Police Department.

No arrests have been announced.
