Postal driver (RCA) killed in Henry County crash

A Swanton woman was killed Tuesday when the U.S. postal vehicle she drove collided with a dump truck in Henry County’s Richfield Township, sheriff’s deputies said.

Trisha Palmer, 35, was northbound on Township Road 3 about 10:30 a.m. and did not stop for a stop sign at County Road L, colliding with the westbound dump truck driven by Jeffrey Halliwell, 47, of Paulding, Ohio. Ms. Palmer, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from her vehicle.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said. Mr. Halliwell, who wore a seat belt, was treated at Henry County Hospital. Ms. Palmer was employed at the post office in Grand Rapids, according to an obituary on the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home website.

  1. Nope can’t blame other people for not wearing a seat belt. And going thru a stop sign on top of it. Distracted driving will kill every time 🙁
