RCA rural carrier dies in Illinois crash

Will County authorities say a U.S. Postal Service driver has been killed in a crash southwest of Chicago.

The county coroner’s office said 48-year-old Daniel McGuire of Channahon died Thursday. A Will County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman says McGuire drove his mail truck off a road and onto the shoulder before crossing the center line and striking a Culligan water truck head-on near Joliet. McGuire was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner’s office says an autopsy is scheduled. It’s unclear what caused McGuire to lose control of the vehicle

RIP. It hurts me when I read about a fellow carrier dying no matter where he or she lived.

My heart breaks for this carriers family. Praying for comfort and peace.
