Rural Carrier Joanna Palmer was recently delivering mail in Geneva, NY, when she came upon a troubling sight: a customer beating his dog. Suspecting that the dog was badly injured, Palmer confronted the man and offered to help with the dog, but he declined. After she left the location, Palmer called her supervisor, who contacted authorities. The dog was retrieved and treated, and the owner was arrested.
