USPS non-career Health Benefit Plan will switch to CareFirst Blue Cross/Blue Shield in 2022

NEW: The US Postal Service‘s non-career Health Benefit Plan will be transitioning from United Healthcare to CareFirst Blue Cross/Blue Shield (BCBS) on January 1, 2022. No action is required as current participants will be automatically transferred to the new plan. If you are not enrolled but are eligible to enroll, you can do so during Open Season from November 8, 2021 to December 13, 2021.
If you are eligible to enroll or currently enrolled in the non-career health plan, you will receive communication from USPS by mail over the next few weeks regarding important dates and any actions you may need to take.
Plan information regarding benefits, participating providers, and other resources are available here: https://www.carefirst.com/usps/. Rate information is forthcoming and will be listed on the USPS Health Benefit Page on LiteBlue.
Employees may contact the HR Shared Service Center at 1-877-477-3273, option 5 with additional questions regarding eligibility. For questions specifically related to coverage, please contact CareFirst BCBS directly at 833-960-4025.
IMPORTANT: This change has no impact on career employees who are covered under the FEHB Program.
We will share additional updates as we receive them.
