Ruralinfo Note: Sharing of this article does not imply that Ruralinfo.net agrees with decertification or does not agree. I no longer have a dog in the fight, but I do believe rural carriers need all of the information.
Several thousand Postal Service rural carriers say they’re in favor of decertifying their union, after USPS implemented a new pay system that led to significant pay cuts for two-thirds of the rural carrier workforce.
A grassroots network of rural carriers across the country is collecting signatures from their coworkers in the hopes of joining a new, non-postal union.
Rural carriers have until the end of the calendar year to gather signatures from a third of the total rural carrier workforce, but individuals leading the project said they have already collected about 20% of the necessary signatures.
Viva la revolution!
The only problem with this is that no other non-postal union would even touch this place, rurals could ask to join another federal union but as far as I know none have stepped forward. So as lovely as getting rid of NRLCA sounds, we’ll be without a union and a contract in the the next six months if this works…honestly, not a well thought out plan.
Don’t decertify the nrlca, Its like watching a train wreck while eating popcorn. I get way to much pleasure watching these simpletons run the craft into the ground. 🍿
I retired in June or I would sign the pet*tion. The union has been selling us out for years. They roll over for management like a trained circus dog.
Before anyone dismisses the idea of decertifying this t**d of a union, remember that thanks to the Teamsters, UPS now has an average salary of $170,000/year!
I just want a union that protects us. Not says one thing and stabs us in the back we need to be able to represent ourselves individually. It’s set up we have no say in anything
Download the pet*tion and gather signatures. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. At minimum, enough signatures to force a vote will let the fata*s union bosses know their days are numbered. The big win will come if we can get the Teamsters to represent us. Their PAC is probably strong enough to get the “no strike’ provision stricken from federal law. Then the rural lion will roar!
The Postal Union and Postal Contract has always been a joke. Who negotiates a contract two years after the previous one expires? And I feel for DeJoy because Pelosi and Shumar sat him down in his office chair his first month in office and told him how he was going to run things or else they would ruin his life. Remember when they fed him to the news media? They told him AMAZON is the BOSS WITH FREE SHIPPING and YOU make up the difference wherever you can. Making millions of Dollars off the sweaty tired backs of the clerks… Read more »
Today, Teamsters has told us that they would be willing to represent us and we can have them on the ballot next year! This is a huge win, BUT, we still need to get the signatures! John and I are continuing to interview, mail out pet*tions, and spread the word the best we can, but we need help!
IF YOU HAVE NOT SIGNED, OR YOUR OFFICE HASN’T, PLEASE HELP COLLECT SIGNATURES!
Information and updates are always posted HERE
Thank you to anyone who has helped or sent in signatures!
it took two years after the contract was signed to get the back pay a real union president would have called for a strike and gone to jail for us when he did I would of
ATTENTION RURAL CARRIERS: You now have the opportunity to take back control of your craft!! Take a look at the stooges that unleashed RRECS on you. How long has it been since any of them carried a route? Could they even fit in a route vehicle? I urge each and every Rural Carrier to sign this pet*tion to decertify the NRLCA.
The only thing the fata*s union bosses are good at is spending our dues money on their free all expense paid vacations they call conventions.
The a*sociation only helps it’s good ol boy network of non-L routes and the rest are thrown under the bus. Truly the Hotel California of “unions”. You can checkout anytime, but you can never leave.
