Rural Carrier Hero: Kimberly Huckabey, Noel, MO

Rural Carrier Associate Kimberly Huckabey was recently delivering mail on her route in Noel, MO, when she spotted smoke billowing from a house.

Huckabey immediately called 911, and although she knew that the homeowners were away on vacation, she checked around outside the residence to make sure no people or pets were in danger.

Emergency responders soon arrived and Huckabey continued her deliveries.

However, she added an additional stop at the end of her day: a return to the scene to bring firefighters cold bottled water.
