Funeral procession for slain Rural Carrier Marie Youngblood

Over 700 friends, family and co-workers attended the funeral service for Marie Youngblood, the Rural Mail Carrier from Shepherd that was gunned down May 17th as she delivered mail on her route. Her vehicle was then driven to another location and burned with her in it.

The service Saturday morning was held at Shepherd United Pentecostal Church. Many friends and even postal customers stood to say a few words on how kind and sweet Ms. Youngblood was. Youngblood, a very religious woman also spread her faith among almost anyone she touched.

Marie Youngblood’s funeral procession from the church to Cedar Grove Cemetery was led by almost a dozen mail trucks.
