Postal Service Honors Athens Rural Carrier Douglas Brodziski for Over 29 Years of Dedicated Service

ATHENS, WI – As part of the United States Postal Service’s “For the Long Haul” initiative, we are thrilled to celebrate Douglas Brodziski, a dedicated rural carrier who has faithfully served the Athens, WI, community for over 29 years at the same Post Office and on the same mail delivery route. Douglas’s commitment and exceptional service have made him a beloved figure in the community.

“For the Long Haul” is an initiative designed to honor the remarkable dedication of long-serving USPS employees like Douglas, who have become integral parts of their communities through their unwavering commitment and service excellence.

Douglas Brodziski began his career with USPS in 1989 as a rural carrier assistant and quickly established himself as a reliable and friendly presence at the Athens Post Office. He was awarded mail delivery Route 1, Athens, WI, 54411 in 1995 and has remained on that same route. Over the years, Douglas has become a familiar face to countless customers, known for his warm smile, helpful attitude, and outstanding service. His deep knowledge of USPS mail delivery service and his genuine care for the community has made him an indispensable part of the Athens Post Office.

“Doug is always friendly and helpful and goes above and beyond to make sure all mail and packages are delivered,” said a regular Athens customer.

“Doug is very deserving of this recognition—he is very dependable, always coming in to work when scheduled, and if needed, he will come in on his off day,” said Rebecca Belter, Postmaster, Athens, WI. ” Doug is the senior carrier in the office.  He is always willing to help when needed and give advice to the other employees. He truly enjoys being involved in our community–some of his community activities include: Volunteer firefighter, Church usher, Knights of Columbus member, Bowling league officer, Ball Park maintenance and concession stands, and Athens Fair Parade volunteer.”
