As Rural Carrier Michael Thomas recently approached a mailbox in Leland, MS, he could see a bicycle lying nearby in the grass. But when he got closer, there was more: a 72-year-old customer who’d fallen off the bike and couldn’t get up, and her 2-year-old grandson trying to help her. Thomas called the woman’s husband and stayed with her until he arrived to take her to a hospital for treatment of a broken foot.
