The new method of calculating pay for rural letter carriers, whose salaries have been reduced by $20,000 or more for some, is arguably the greatest wage theft in US history.
Due to the inability of the Post Office and the union to resolve the issues of that have surfaced because of the RRECS, perhaps an interim pay scale should be established. Understandably, there has been much publicity about the carriers who have taken a huge pay cut. On the other end of the spectrum, there are several routes in my office that are over burdened to the point of being many hours over the 48 hour threshold.
Is there any talk about compensation?
RRECS was developed at the request of the union.
It’s been in development for over 10 years.
In all that time it occurred to no one that a route would need to be adjusted and the evaluation would need to change.
As it stands, anything that gets added to your route will be done for free for at least 18 months before you see a dime.

Overburdened routes are supposed to get a commensurate amount of help from subs. It’s in the contract. File a grievance.
