Statement from NRLCA President Don Maston on Reported Attempts to Dismantle and Privatize the Postal Service

We are deeply concerned by recent media reports that the Trump Administration plans to disband the U.S. Postal Service’s governing board and seize control of this vital public institution through executive order—a move that paves the way for privatization and the stripping away of the Universal Service Obligation. This strategy threatens the very lifeline that millions of Americans, especially those in rural and hard-to-reach areas, depend on every day to receive critical deliveries including prescription drugs, checks, online purchases, and election ballots.
