Step 4 Settlement on Compensation When Management Required Rural Carriers to Take a (30) Minute Lunch Break

This case involves management requiring rural carriers to take a 30 minute lunch break after 6 hours of work even if the carrier did not want to take a lunch break. The parties agree that rural carriers at their option may take a lunch break, provided the time does not exceed (30) minutes per Article 30.1.F. The parties further agree this provision prohibits management from requiring a rural carrier to take a (30) minute lunch break. The parties agree where rural carriers were required to take a (30) minute lunch break other than what was customarily taken will be compensated.
