In a new video, Postmaster General Louis DeJoy discusses the Postal Service’s upgraded delivery fleet, which begins rolling out this year.
The video also features comments from Jocelyn Freitas, senior fleet operations specialist; Michael Bacon, the Atlanta Vehicle Maintenance Facility manager; Atlanta Postmaster Falonda Woods; and letter carriers Yoaly Munguia and Adrienne Wiley.
The new vehicles’ improved safety features and the role the upgraded fleet plays in the Postal Service’s sustainability strategy are also addressed.
The five-minute video is the third installment in “The Plan in Action,” a five-part series on Delivering for America that will be released throughout the summer.
USPS has over 240 000 vehicles and they replacing 27 000. What a progress. LLV has no traction control, no ABS, no a/c, no airbags. I wander how many carries died in the crash and USPS probably tried to blame carriers. Especially when LLV roles even on park down hill and hand bakes just snaps back for no reason. That LLV is aluminum box that shreds to pieces when crushed. They promised new trucks back in 2009. About time to change 10%. Ok I give them extra 10% so 20% max has been changed.
As far as fitting out all carriers don’t forget the crap load of metris’ the USPS has, upper mgmt certainly hasn’t 😂… They see them as a perfectly adequate replacement for the LLV, I doubt any rural carriers will ever see anything but hand-me-down metris’ for the next few decades.
It’s 27000 this year and more each coming year. It will still take years but it’s not just 27000.
So who will take the blame the first subzero winter day when hundreds of those EVs won’t work?
My bet is, it won’t be Uncle Louis.
I hope he blames the Union leaders!
