UPDATE: H.R. 82, The Social Security Fairness Act Passes House

UPDATE: On Tuesday, November 12, the House passed the Social Security Fairness Act (H.R. 82), legislation that would repeal the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and the Government Pension Offset (GPO), under a suspension of the rules by a 327-75 final vote (suspension of the rules requires a 2/3 majority vote) .  Thank you to our members who contacted their representatives in support of this legislation. The next step for this legislation is passage by the Senate.
