UPDATE: On Tuesday, November 12, the House passed the Social Security Fairness Act (H.R. 82), legislation that would repeal the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and the Government Pension Offset (GPO), under a suspension of the rules by a 327-75 final vote (suspension of the rules requires a 2/3 majority vote) .
