Rural Carrier Hero: Amber Kohn, Herrin, IL

Rural Carrier Amber Kohn was delivering mail recently in Herrin, IL, when a car in front of her began weaving on the road.

Kohn saw the driver slump forward as the car slowed and rolled toward a culvert.

The Postal Service employee pulled over, ran to the car and safely accessed it to put it in park.

She then called 911 for the driver — a man who apparently suffered a seizure — and stayed with him until emergency responders arrived.
