Postal employees to get letter with overtime tax deduction information

The Postal Service will send a letter in mid-January with information about a new temporary federal tax deduction for certain portions of federal overtime payments made to eligible employees.

The letter will include the employee’s qualified overtime amount for 2025.

Employees are encouraged to ensure their mailing address is up to date by going to LiteBlue and selecting “My Contact Information” in the “Employee Apps” section.

According to stand up talk 12/22/25- Rural carriers will not be entitled to the “overtime tax deduction” compensated under section 7(b)(2) of the FLSA. So essentially we will not be receiving the exemption for overtime paid on our NS day, only for work hours in excess of 12 hours in a day or 56 hours in a week! Just another misrepresentation to the American people. I hope rural carriers are not counting on a large tax refund this year
