Rural carrier rescues customer who fell, broke arm

Rural Carrier Frank Flejtuch was recently delivering mail in Hayden, ID, when he spotted an older customer lying on the ground outside her home.

Flejtuch rushed to check on the woman, who had fallen and couldn’t stand up on her own.

The Postal Service employee safely helped the customer get on her feet and inside her residence.

He then called the woman’s daughter, who took her to an urgent care center, where she was treated for a broken arm.

“If Frank hadn’t helped, the customer’s outcome may have been very different,” said local Acting Customer Services Supervisor Lee Coker.
