On August 22, 2022, USPS employee Pam Rock was tragically killed in Putnam County after being attacked by five dogs while delivering mail. More recently, on January 13, 2025, 8-year-old Michael Millett was fatally attacked and killed by a dangerous dog while riding his bicycle in his Volusia County neighborhood. In response to these and similar incidents, Florida has passed a new law aimed at holding negligent dog owners accountable and better protecting the public
