This is rural relief carrier appreciation week.

The delegates at the 114th National Convention in Grand Rapids, MI passed a binding resolution stating, “That a week during the year be designated as Relief Carrier Appreciation Week.”

The NRLCA National Board has designated the first full week in February as “Relief Carrier Appreciation Week.”

We ask that you join us in showing our leave replacements that their dedication and commitment do not go unnoticed. In truth, regular carriers should appreciate the leave replacements in their offices every week throughout the year.

Relief carriers play a vital role in the rural carrier evaluated system, working what sometimes seem to be never-ending hours to help the Postal Service succeed, as well as providing relief to regular carriers.

As we wrap up the peak holiday season, with a record-breaking number of parcels delivered, now is an especially good time to thank our leave replacements of all designations throughout the country for their hard work!
