Use Email to Access LiteBlue? You’ll Need to Make a Change

Postal Service™ employees who use the email multifactor security option to access LiteBlue® will have to choose a different method soon.

The verify-by-email option is being retired on Thursday, August 29, 2024.

To ensure continued secure access to LiteBlue (liteblue.usps.gov), USPS® recommends affected employees choose either Google Authenticator or Okta Verify as a replacement. One-time codes sent by text message or a phone call are also available options.

Employees who already use one of the other methods are not affected by this change.

To update your MFA settings, go to your Self-Service Profile (liteblue.usps.gov/lite-blue/self-service-profile.htm).

The Postal Service instituted a multifactor authentication, known as MFA, to access LiteBlue in January 2023. MFA is a critical security measure that adds an extra layer of protection by requiring a second form of verification in addition to a password. MFA helps to safeguard an employee’s account against unauthorized access and potential cyberattacks.

For more information on:

Available verification options, see the LiteBlue MFA page at liteblue.usps.gov/cyber/multifactor-authentication.htm.

Step-by-step instructions for setting up MFA with one of the new options, see the MFA User Guide for LiteBlue at liteblue.usps.gov/cyber/multifactor-authentication.htm.
