Due to extreme weather conditions forecast across the majority of states within the South Atlantic Conference (SAC), the NRLCA is heeding urgent advisories issued by the National Weather Service for Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, and North Carolina. This decision is further guided by the North Carolina Governor’s emergency declaration, which urges all residents to “remain at home and avoid travel this weekend unless absolutely necessary to allow first responders to perform their duties safely and effectively.”
As this significant weather event is expected to result in snow, ice, severely hazardous driving conditions, and air travel disruptions, the National Board will not be sending representatives to the conference. Due to the seriousness of the situation, the National Board has formally requested that the SAC Board cancel the conference scheduled for this weekend in Cherokee, North Carolina. It is our hope the conference can be rescheduled in the near future.
